If Minnie Cat Could talk

Will your heart hold on with my love?  Will it keep on beating as you lay a top my chest.

My Minnie, My love

Will your heart hold on with my love?  Will it keep on beating as you lay a top my chest.

Your purr sounding so purr-fect

I am thankful for each purr and meow you greet me with.

If I could talk.

I would tell my purr~son how much I dearly love her. I would thank her for her kind and compassionate heart. Her unconditional loving care since the day she adopted me in 2004.

I was 11 months old and had been at the shelter here in Key West. I was rescued off the street at 4 months with  a belly full of kitties.

I would have been a great mama.

I will be 15 on Valentines Day.

This past few years I have slowed down.

I know the bridge they speak of with the Rainbows is getting closer for me. I have no canines now, my eyes have brown specks and I don’t hear as well as I once did. I move much slower and appreciate my purr-son taking the frame off her bed so I can still get up easier.

I love sleeping beside her. I have always been a lap cat. Lately I just find a good napping spot. I know she misses my cuddles and purrs, but in my own way I am preparing her for future days that will eventually  come.

Mama knows I am a sweetheart.

I never bit her even when I had teeth, not once. I never  left my home to venture outdoors. I think I may be the only cat that is actually so fastidious I go to the litter box to throw up any hair balls.

That makes me really special, I know I am.

They say on the other side of Rainbow Bridge I will see my favorite mate Shy. I sure do miss him and the way he cleaned my ears. Mama does that now.

I will be as I was as a kitten full of imagination and vigor.

I never did do much meowing unless I am hungry. I know I make this  endearing hum, no word for it.

Then of course my Moto Purr which comes out of the blue, especially sleeping at my purr-son’s side or getting  my daily massage.

I always wag my tail high in the air and I am stealth as cats come.

My purr-son calls me her rattle tail.

Of course she occasionally calls me Minnie Garbo, Minnie Muffin, Minnie Penny.

Such sweet names for me.

In 2011 my Purr-son took in a stranger.

Her name is China and she was a mere 12 weeks old. Needless to say this cat hated me and I her. I suffered from bullying and the torture of IBS runnies for many years.

We still do not bond like Shy and me but we do walk past each other without trying to kill the other.

I am and always will be the Queen.

I have never eaten any of your birds like when China ate the Blue parakeet.

I love you.

I love Chibi the hamster too.

We’ve been so close, we two, these years, Don’t let your heart hold tears.

When I cross the Rainbow’s Bridge; SMILE, FOR WE WALKED TOGETHER FOR AWHILE

Be Like a CAT

Human have lots to learn from our pets.

They live life in the present, no drama, no muss, and no fuss.

Maybe some fuss but completely on their terms.

That is because animals don’t care what others think about them.

They spontaneously do what makes them happy at that very moment, eat when they are hungry, sleep anywhere at any time, and ask when they want affection. all the “coulds”, “shoulds”, and “what ifs” don’t exist.

Take time to enjoy some sunbeams.

Be finicky. Why eat something unless you are 100% positive you are going to enjoy it?

Take lots of naps.

Don’t hold grudges.

In multi-cat households, smack downs happen all the time, but just a little while later, there we are on the bed, curled up together.

Why is it so hard for humans to do that?

Don’t dwell on illness. We cats rarely let on when we are feeling unwell, unless it is something important. That’s because we know it’s boring to complain endlessly about minor aches and pains.

Groom frequently, but do it for the right reasons. When we cats bathe ourselves, we aren’t trying to impress anyone. We are doing it for the sheer pleasure of looking good.

Stretch! It keeps you supple and limber. You may not need to sleep curled up into a little ball, but wouldn’t it be nice to be able to if you ever had the desire?

Sleep as much as humanly possible.

Relax and find a way to be comfortable at all times.

Groom several times a day by taking frequent showers, shaving and brushing your hair.

Play regularly.

Make others work hard to become your friend.

To act like a cat in the attitude department, don’t be overly nice to everyone you meet, but instead make them work a bit to prove themselves before you allow them into your life.

Cats spend their days sleeping,washing,eating

They have no trouble asking for what they want

They will use you as furniture if they feel like it;

and if you get in the way, you’ll get washed too with their remarkable tongues

Take care of yourself like a Cat

Get enough sleep

Eat when you feel like it

Wash yourself carefully and with deliberation

Ask for what you need

If you don’t want to be with people, hide from them

A Little Self-Absorption is good once in awhile
