Looking Within and Finding Yourself

Wisdom.jpg

It’s been an interesting morning. always one to delve deep, I have been researching Knowing Yourself, warts and all.

Online personality tests took up a good portion of my morning.

“To know thyself is the beginning of wisdom.” This famous quote is often attributed to Socrates. But what exactly do you know when you “know yourself?”

Interesting blog on the subject.

Merry meet and Merry part and Merry meet again. The dance of life’s intricate moves are more pleasing since I have you for my friend.

I did my RUNE reading the other day.

Wisdom

As the UNKNOWABLE card says it is a beginning, it is a end.
Perhaps a new beginning and an end to the way things were.
I AM in the moment and nothing can keep me from the experience of making an effort in understanding another human being.
And learning what I need to learn.

The last Rune card I faced up was “The Unknowable”
This card is the blank card…Blank is the End, Blank is the beginning.

This card rises like the Phoenix from the ashes of what we call fate.

The card says that a willingness and permitting are what is required~the empty-handed Leap into the void.
So, as my day continues I remain open to the possibilities, I also remain open to the realizations that THIS MOMENT is good.
And this is the Only Moment !

That undeniable force that makes you realize no matter how down you get that there is always a sun that will come out. It is there to brighten our days. Even when it rains we know that perhaps a rainbow will show through the clouds and the air will seem fresher after the storm.

Occasionally issues are Under the carpet, brushed aside so too speak.

The Time to face the reality of a through cleansing.

The carpet has been lifted and the multitudes of debris is being cleared.
I actually did do under the rugs today when I vacuumed and it was amazing the things I found.

Yesterday I  went to a Celebration of Life event and was surrounded by the most wonderful persons.

I made new friends of like mind and it made me think of something I had written way back in 2004.

If  I could think of  just one something I would like to have right at this moment it would be a like minded companion.

Someone that has grown through there previous relationships and also at the same time learned from them.

This is most important.

If you haven’t learned the lesson the lesson will keep coming over and over until at some point you say ahha. I got it. By George I think I got it.

I wish I understood what in the heck I am doing.

My feelings flip faster then pancakes.

Warrior Scars

“Could a scar be like the rings of a tree, reopened with each emotional season?”

~Magenta Periwinkle

Who knows ? Sometimes we don’t remember how we got each and every scar.

It may be an emotional scar. Perhaps someone hurt you by something they said or did.

It could be a physical scar that has remained with you.  You are taken back to that moment when it occurred.

Regardless, a scar is a reminder. You survived.

Which brings us to the wisdom in scars. We battle on and hopefully learn from our mistakes and missteps.

Remember there’s beauty in our scars. They portray the Warrior that resides in our hearts.

“Maybe, it is just enough to believe with a positive heart that people didn’t let you down. It could be just this: They couldn’t give you the compassion you really wanted based on where their heart is now. Maybe, not now, but years later they will catch the memory of you in a quiet moment. There on that Sunday morning, a light will shine through the fog of lies, misunderstanding and frustration they built inside their angry mind about your true character. And, when it does, the shadows will be cast out to reveal a scared and hurt little boy or girl who just wanted to be loved, but went about it all wrong. Maybe, on that day, the whisper of their gratitude for your love will find its way back to your heart. And when that day comes, you will find yourself smiling all day long and not know why.”

~Shannon L.Alder

My take on this photograph and quote.

The sign of PEACE I captured in a moment of being in my element. Blue skies and bellowing clouds on a warm, carefree excursion to Snipes Point.

Looking back over my life I realized I had made many mistakes and numerous poor choices. On some level of my being, it was the best I could do at the time.

I have forgiven myself.

The fact remains I know I let persons down. Perhaps I called off work when I knew I was depended on. Maybe even with good intentions I made promises and failed to keep them.

Tid Bit:

Did you know the kangaroo  does not step backwards ?

It always goes forward, even when the world is going chaotically around in circles.

Its long tail is like the trunk of a tree and bears its weight.

In all things WE recognize the necessity of learning balance in our lives.

May every wound bring wisdom
and every trial bring triumph
and with each passing day
may you live more abundantly than the day before.
May you be blessed
And may others be blessed by you

Abraham Lincoln: “This country, with its institutions, belongs to the people who inhabit it. Whenever they shall grow weary of the existing government, they can exercise their constitutional right of amending it, or exercise their revolutionary right to overthrow it.”

This is funny. I was trying to figure out where I seen this BEEP BEEP BOOP after I seen all the flak WordPress is getting on the new post area. So, I thought well that’s a catchy blog title. Now I realize that’s where I seen it. It pops up each time you hit new post.

Lullaby of Pi

Bengal_Pi

Just finished watching “Life of Pi”  Tears are still fresh on my face.

To describe this move is not an easy feat. It is a fantasy adventure of a young man’s journey.

His name is Piscine Molitor

Shipwrecked, the heartache of losing his family, alone on the vast ocean of Life.

He realizes on his small life boat he has travelers. A huge Bengal cat named “Richard Parker”

How the tiger got it’s name and the tale of alternating stories to satisfy insurance mongrels, is left for you too see.

Of course the story of the animals and how they were portrayed in metaphors is THE Story.

The soundtrack is mesmerizing and hauntingly beautiful.

My favorite is the Lullaby.
